Ask your administrator if you think this is wrong. ====== Installation on Sony BRAVIA Professional Displays (Android 10) ====== Sony BRAVIA Professional Displays with Android 10 are supported from player version 1.12.0.84. We only tested BZ30J models. ===== Factory reset (if needed) ===== If the TV has been used before, it should be reset first. - Press HOME button - Select {{:private:android:settings-icon.svg}} at the top right of the screen - Select //System// > //About// > //Reset// > //Factory Data Reset// > //Delete everything// > //Yes// If iGotcha Signage has already been installed, pressing the HOME button may not bring up the home screen. In that case, follow those steps instead: - Press CENTER button to make the PIN dialog appears - Enter the PIN which is 1920 by default - From the sidebar menu, select //Settings// > //System settings// - Select //System// > //About// > //Reset// > //Factory Data Reset// > //Delete everything// > //Yes// If the steps above does not work, the TV can also be reset using the buttons at the back of the TV. See https://www.sony.ca/en/electronics/support/articles/00159906 or https://www.sony.ca/en/electronics/support/articles/00171707 for details. ===== Initial TV Setup ===== When the TV is turned on for the first time, a "Welcome" screen appears. - Select //English (Canada)// - Select //Skip// when asked to sign in to Google - Select //Accept// to accept terms and services - Uncheck //Use location// and //Help improve Android//, then select //Accept// when asked about Google Services - Press RIGHT on the remote control multiple times to swipe through on-boarding information - Press DOWN on the remote control multiple times to scroll down the entire Sony Privacy Policy - Select //Agree// to accept the Privacy Policy - Select //Wall Mount// when asked for the TV position - Select //Next// when asked about Apple AirPlay and HomeKit - Select //Done// to continue ===== Upgrade TV firmware ===== The TV firmware may need to be updated to use features introduced in newer versions of Android. For BZ30J, BZ35J, BZ40J, and BZ40H models. If the screen has an internet connection, it may update the firmware automatically Or you can select the update option in the settings. The firmware can be manually updated by following those steps: - Download the firmware at https://pro-bravia.sony.net/resources/display/bz30j-series/firmware-update/index.html -- iGotcha recommends version 6.6070 - Extract the downloaded zip file and copy the extracted .pkg file to the root folder of a USB key. - Plug the USB key into the TV - A dialog should appear on the TV, the update will start automatically - Wait around 15 minutes for the update to complete (The TV may reboot multiple times) - Once the update is completed, remove the USB key and select /OK/ to continue. ===== Enable ADB ===== ADB needs to be enabled to install the app, and to be able to control the device remotely. - Press HOME - Select {{:private:android:settings-icon.svg}} at the top right of the screen - Select //System// > //About// - Press DOWN on the remote control until //Build// is selected - Press CENTER on the remote control seven times to enable developer options - Press BACK to go back to the //System// setting menu - Go to //Developer options//, and turn on //ADB Debugging// ===== Install iGotcha Signage ===== First, note the IP address of the TV. To get the IP address, follow those steps: - Press HOME - Select {{:private:android:settings-icon.svg}} at the top right of the screen - Select //Network and internet// - Note the IP address appearing under the //Connected// item On a Windows computer: - Download //Android SDK Platform Tools for Windows// from https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools - Extract the downloaded zip file - Open the extracted //platform-tools// folder in File Explorer - Copy the iGotcha APK file in that //platform-tools// folder - Press CTRL+L to select the Window Explorer navigation bar - Type ''cmd'' in the navigation bar, and press ENTER. This will open a Command prompt window - In the command prompt, type ''adb.exe connect 1.2.3.4'' while replacing 1.2.3.4 with the IP address of the TV, and press ENTER. - On the TV, select //Allow// to accept the connection - In the command prompt, type ''adb.exe install iGotchaSignage-Android-*.apk'', and press ENTER. - On the TV, a Google Play Protect dialog may appear. If so, select //Decline//. - In the command prompt, type ''adb.exe shell dpm set-device-owner com.igotchamedia.androidplayer/.AdminReceiver'', and press ENTER. - In the command prompt, type ''adb.exe reboot'', and press ENTER. - In the command prompt, type ''adb.exe disconnect'', and press ENTER. The iGotcha Signage app should have appeared on the TV. ===== iGotcha Signage Setup ===== Next, the iGotcha Signage app needs to be setup. - Select //Settings// from the player main menu - Select //Server URL// - Enter the signage server URL - Select //Ok// - Turn on //Remote access// - Select //Settings// from the dialog box that appeared - Select //iGotcha Automation// > //Enable// - Select //OK// to confirm - Press BACK twice - Make sure that //Remote access// has turned on - Press BACK to return to the player main menu - Select //Player Setup// - Enter player id - Select //Launch// The player will download the content and starts to play. ===== Locking the screen ===== Finally, lock the screen to complete the installation. - Press CENTER - Select //Lock// from the player main menu Installation is now complete. ===== Unlocking the screen ===== Once locked, the screen needs to be unlocked to access the menus and modify the device settings. - Press CENTER to make the PIN dialog appears - Enter the PIN which is 1920 by default When the screen is unlocked, a padlock icon is displayed in the bottom right of the screen. private/android/sony-tv-android10-install.txt Last modified: 2023/08/11 12:19by 127.0.0.1
